In Kapetaniana, where the small guesthouse Pension Kofinas is located, nestled in a fascinating landscape, the tranquility of one of the most picturesque Cretan villages awaits you on the southern flank of the Asteroussia Mountains.
The village is located at about 800m above sea level and provides a beautiful view of the incandescent waters of the Libyan Sea. Here you have the opportunity to go on several hiking tours- from easy to demanding – with highlights such as climbing to the top of Mount Kofinas (at 1,236 m).
Amongst the highlights is also a visit to Moni Koudouma monastery, and coastal walks to the grotto-church of Agios Antonios and the church of the hermit Agios Joannis. Take a look in our gallery for photos.

ORGANISED HIKING
We have been successfully organising hiking holidays in Greece and Tunisia since 1990. Renowned German and Austrian organisations, such as the Austrian Alpine Association and the nature enthusiasts' society "Naturfreunde", promote our hiking tours. We're also a part of the team of "Weltweitwandern" team in Graz, Austria's biggest hiking tour operators. Along with CRETAN ADVENTURES we specialise in compiling individual hiking tours, and our strength lies in our ability to cater for specific requirements.
